Yesterday (Sunday 30 March) we had a meeting with all the missionaries of this mission, all the bishops, and all the stake presidents. In this meeting we talked about the importance of working together. President Wright and a member of the seventy talked. It was from 5:00 to 6:30. It was a really good meeting and I think it should really help the work progress here in Chile. Our bishop is fantastic. His name is Obispo Armijo. He already does all his visits and has gone out and done visits with us on several occasions. I am really glad to be able to work with someone who has such a great spirituality about them. It really is radiating. Which is why, I guess, that many people find out that we have something that they don't.
The Lord really has big plans for Chile, especially Santiago. I am really hopeful for the future here but it will only work if the missionaries and the members work together. Apostles and General Authorities have said so and I can really see it. The number of people in the church is growing and President Wright believes that by 2015 we can have 7000 people regularly going to church in this mission. Also President Wright and his wife came and studied with my companion and I. It was way cool to see how they studied and take some ideas from them. President Wright has tons of knowledge of the scriptures, it's way cool.
My birthday last Monday was really good. A family made me a strawberry cake, and it was delicious. I had a good time visiting other families and celebrating. We ate a lot, however I continue to lose weight, or so everyone (and my pants) tell me. It is lots of fun to be on a mission. I have learned so much about how to live my life in the future. I can definitely say that everyone that goes on a mission will love it, but only as long as they make a true effort to be obedient.
Not much else to tell. I'm glad Ben has become a karate master, representing the family name, and uncle Bruce Lee. I have heard that joke about a million times here. "What's your name?" "Elder Lee" "Oh like Bruce Lee hahahaha". I have to laugh every time I hear it, but I'm a good sport. My Spanish is coming along nicely. I am constantly learning new Chilean sayings everyday. Well hope everyone has a great week!!
Love,
Elder Nate Lee
