Another Powerful Testimony

Well nothing too exciting on this end either.  It is starting to get cold here, and I love it.  My companion however has always lived in a warm climate and so he hates the cold but God wanted it this way and so I am perfectly happy about it.  Yesterday was also my companion's birthday.  We celebrated as a zone in between the conferences and then went straight back to work.  Birthdays are kinda lame on the mission.

Our bishop out here is way awesome.  He is super spiritual and really wants to do his best for the ward.  We have been working with him a lot to find which families we should pass by and who the ward is going to be working with.  If all goes as planned we should be bringing a lot of people back to church.  That is really one of the hardest thing is getting people to church.  We always have lessons with them and they love it and are super motivated to go to church, and then they don't come.  However there is always success mixed in with the failures.

Last week we visited a family with the bishop, and the wife was way way way unmotivated to go to church.  She said "I just don't have any desire."  We didn't know what to do so we and the bishop started to share our testimonies.  The next time we went back she said that she has lots of desire to go to church, and every time we go back there she has more desire.  They didn't go to Conference but we have high hopes about this Sunday.  We go over there and read the Book of Mormon with them as a family.  It is really key to have scripture study every day, as well as prayer.  I have seen the effect that it had on the family and the effect that it has had on me personally.  

 

As I have gone throughout my mission I have realized how ridiculous it would be to not believe in these things.  Everything just makes soo much sense.  It frustrates me to, because I want to give these people the knowledge and testimony that I have but I can't.  I can only share my experiences and hope that their hearts won't be hard so that the spirit can testify to them.  It is the coolest thing when something just clicks in someone's head or they have a huge change of heart.  Basically its cool to see miracles.

 

Conference was way good.  I learned a ton, especially from the Priesthood session.  They also said in Priesthood session that the women should watch it as well.  It explains a lot of the doctrine of the Priesthood in relation to gender, and two priesthood keys that we do not yet have: creation and resurrection.  When you pay attention to conference you really can learn some cool stuff.  Now I have to wait till it comes out in the Liahona to study it further.
