Dearest Mom,
Well we have changes this week, and I got changed to a ward called Vincuña Makenna (half gringo name). I am with an Elder Eche. He has 6 weeks in the mission. He's from Peru, almost at the border with Ecuador. From what I've seen so far he looks like a fantastic missionary. I am way excited to start working with him. So now I have had a Mexican companion, a Chilean companion, an Ecuadorian? companion, a gringo companion, and now a Peruvian compaion. Fun fun fun!! I do have to say that my favorite was the gringo companion. Half because I was in a house with 3 other gringos, that was way fun. Now, however, I am in an apartment building with 3 Latinos so we will see how things go.
Well last Friday, in my old ward, we had an activity for missionary work. It was a movie night in the church and we were going to invite as many people and we could and watch a movie picked out by the bishopric. We thought it was going to be a church movie, but turns out it was Monsters University. Seeing as we can't watch those movies we just sat outside talking :( but from the little I saw it looks like a completely fantastic movie. I can't wait to see it when I get home.
Also, there was an interesting controversy between Chile and Peru that ended today. Chile had won some land and ocean from Peru in a war a while back, and now Peru wants that land back so today they were having a debate or something like that as to how they were going to use the land. They supposedly finished the debate thingy at 11:00 and I don't know how it resulted. My companion is worried that if it ended badly he could get deported back, and/or Chile could go and attack Peru, because apparently Peru isn't prepared to ward off an attack from Chile. So I will let you know how this goes.
I thought Josh went home around June. Is he really coming home in 4 months? Wow time really flies. Well I will be home 9-10 months after him and that time will go by even faster. It was so weird to hear other missionaries say that as you get farther in the mission the faster it goes. I can definitely confirm that. Time is just flying by.
I don't know if I have said this before, but I am way excited to be able to go the Temple often when I get back, because here there is a rule that we can only go once a year. Plus my Patriarchal Blessing talks about knowledge that I am going to gain by going to the Temple, so I think that it probably is talking about when I get back. Also an Hermana in my last ward was talking about all the cool stuff that she had experienced being a worker in the temple. She also motioned that she could hear angels singing. That made me want to be a temple worker way bad.
I love hearing all the little Ben stories. He legitimately does something new every week. He sounds so funny. You can tell him he can borrow my bed until I get back. And also tell him that Nate says he needs to do his homework to be able to be a good missionary.
Tell Anna good luck with three little boys!! Her life is never gonna be boring I can say that much.
Well have a great week!!
Love,
Elder Nathan Lee
Also I got my package from Grandma Johnson!! It was way awesome, and I am going to use the blanket she sent me for a long time.
Thank you Grandma!
