Elder Holland!!

Well the highlight of this week was definitely Elder Holland.  So we got at the Stake Center at 4:40 and got the fist row.  Awesomeness!!  But then we had to wait for 5 hours for Elder Holland to come, which was lame, but totally worth it.  When he got there it was amazing.  I legitimately felt like I was in the presence of the most famous celebrity on the planet.  It was an incredible experience.  So for like the three hours that he was here I was about 10 feet from him, and when he was on the stand he was siting right in front of me so he kept looking into my eyes.  It was really nerve racking, and awesome.  Then when he got up to speak I felt just power.  Lots and lots of power.  He said a lot of stuff that he has said in the past but it was great to hear it in person and really close.  He also said some really funny things.  Like when he first got up to speak he started of with: "I am so pumped up right now." "I´m ready to roll!".  And then during the talk he was talking about his age and said:"I´m older than dirt." "I helped Noah build the ark." and "I have one foot in the grave and another on a banana peel."  I was laughing my head off, it was so fantastic.

One of the things I really like was when we sang the hymns.  There were almost 1000 missionaries there for Elder Holland so they sang loud.  I am sure people outside were wondering "What the heck is going on in there?"  And another thing I liked wast something that Sister Holland said.  She talked about how really all that the Lord asks us to do is read and pray, and with that we have the desire to do everything else that is good.  I have already used that with some of the less actives here and it seems to be working.  Another thing that I like was when Elder Holland talked about the importance of the Book of Mormon.  He talked about how in the first chapter of Nephi when Lehi has a vision.  In this vision he is given a book, and through this book he was filled with the spirit and found out that Jerusalem was going to be destroyed.  So then he talked about how impossible it was for him and everyone else to bring someone into the gospel without them having a testimony of the Book of Mormon.  It was great.  And lastly, he said something that shocked me.  He said that these times we are in now rival with the First Vision, Book of Mormon, and receiving of the Priesthood. It just made me thing about how much we really have to do our part, because of the importance of our time.

Other than Elder Holland almost nothing is different.  They had elections yesterday, and now they are down to 2 candidates, so they will vote again December 15.  I am 99 percent sure that a woman named Michele Bachalet is going to win and be president.  She is a socialist, basically a communist, and she wants to rewrite the constitution of Chile so...not sure how things are gonna go down here.  But on the bright side me and my companion have made a new goal to talk with more people in the streets, and we have found tons of new investigators out of it.  We found a Chilean who lived in the states for 5 years.  He's lived in Provo, Park City, Brigham City, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Boulder City, so that was pretty cool.  He is not a member...yet.  He seems really excited to hear about what we teach so its gonna be awesome.  We have also be stopped by a lot of drunks that what to talk about nonsense, fun.  So some days I go home with my hand smelling like alcohol from shaking all of their hands.  That's ok though, cause they need our help more than a lot of other people.  And other than that it was a normal week.

Love,

Elder Nate Lee!!
