Chicken Hearts and a New Companion

I love hearing all of the funny stories and the interesting stuff going on back home.  I am going to try and write better letters home so let me know how i do.  Well first off yesterday we had another baptism.  his name is Henry and he is the Ex boyfriend of Diana who we baptized three weeks ago.  The baptism went great and next week we get to confirm him which will be awesome and then I will officially have two baptisms in the mission Sweet!  The only thing that we need to do is get him to be good friends with the members here at church, and to have some of the members go and accompany him to church weekly.  We had changes yesterday and my companion got called to train, so he is going to be leaving tomorrow to another sector, but tonight he and Elder Rice are going to sleep in our pension (Elder Rice was in the MTC with me and Elder Bushman)  Today I picked up my new companion, Elder Cottrell, he is a gringo that is from Mexico.  So he spoke Spanish before his mission, but he was born in Texas.  He seems like a really cool guy, and he wants us both to have six-packs by the end of these six weeks so we are going to see how that goes.  He seems really excited about the work so I think that we are going to do some good here.  My last companion was in this sector for a year one month and three days so he knew everywhere to go and all the street names so me and my new companion are going to have to learn all this stuff for ourselves, and we are going to have to do it fast.

The last week with my companion was pretty sad.  It is always sad when a missionary has to leave, especially after a year and some of being there.  It was fun too though because everybody gives us food and little gifts so that we can remember them when we leave.  At this one house I finally got to try something weird.  I tried chicken heart.  I actually really liked it.  It tasted like some seasoned meat, which was awesome.  I also heard something really crazy from one of the members here.  I heard that in our ward boundaries there is someone that was a member of the Seventy that is now inactive.  That just blew my mind.  I couldn't believe that after being a member of the Seventy and knowing what he knows that he could later become inactive.  I heard that it was because of some things that happened with some other members that he became inactive.  I just hate how there seems to always be problems between members of the church.  We are all on the same side.  We should always be helping each other and always be uplifting.  Well I just have to accept that fact that not everybody is perfect and move on.  I guess that is why I am here to help people try to become perfect like Christ.
This week was another normal week, but I have some great news.  On the 12 of this month, Elder Holland is coming!!  I am so pumped about that.  The meeting starts at 10 in the morning so they told us that we have to be there at 9, but I think me and my companion are going to be there at around 6.  I want to sit in the splash zone.  I want to feel his saliva as he fills us with some crazy knowledge.  Especially since all the missionaries from the Santiago missions are going to be there.  Missions North, South, East, and West.  They said there are going to be around 1000 missionaries there so we have to get there early to get some good seats.  President said it's first come first serve so we have to beat the Hermanas (sisters) out at the very least.

Other than that things are pretty normal here.  A few weeks ago I gave Elder Bushman some money so that he could buy me a Hand made Easter island figurine.  So in a few weeks that should get finished and I can send some pictures of that.  And there is a huge Feria (flea market thingy) on the street Grecia.  I have heard that there is some really cool stuff there, so if I can take some money out I could go take a look and maybe get some awesome presents for you guys before I go home.

Well that's it for this week.  Personally I think that this letter was better.

Yeahup that's all!

Love,

Elder Nate Lee
