Less Active Members and Learning to Love Chile!

Well this week went alright.  Me and my new companion are doing great.  We get along real well and we actually get work done.  This week we passed by a ton of houses but nobody was there.  I guess all we can do is keep trying and eventually we will figure out their schedule so we can actually get some of those lessons in.  We did have a decent number of visits with menos activos and they went pretty well.  We had three of them come to church on Sunday and I hope they keep coming back.

One thing we need is new investigators.  We will probably start going down the list of futuros and then just start doing some good ole street contacting.  Elder Fernandez and I are excited to work and both agree that now is a good time to start cranking out the baptisms.  I hope to learn a lot this change and that we can lose ourselves in the work.

I/m finally starting to enjoy being here and think that at some point in the future I could love being here.  I just have to do everything in power to make that come as quickly as possible.  Right now we are in a less actives house.  Her name is Hermana Daissy.  She went to church last week with another less active named Diego.  I am pretty sure that if we hadn't passed by last week she wouldn't have gone to church, and we would't be here in her house right now.  It was a pretty good idea to come here, then we don't have to pay for cyber and we continue building our relationship with the less actives.  Two birds with one stone.

I really think that if we get the members involved with one of our investigators she would be gold.  Her name is Andrea Gomez and she has two kids of age to be baptized, which is a bonus.  She was an old investigator that we came across but she is busy a lot and so she is hard to get to.  She said that she believes that the Book of Mormon is true, and that she had a fecha bautismal in the past but that the elders went away so it just kind of fell through.  And she said when the other Elders came it just wasn't the same as before.  Answer: involve members. All she needs is a friend in the church so that when we go she will have a social reason to go to church.  So that will be the main program for this week is bringing a member to her house and helping them establish a relationship.  We have a pretty good relationship with her right now so that's good.

Other than that we will be focusing on new investigators.

Oh yeah I live with Elder Lobos, Elder Fernandez, and Elder Watts.  So 2 Chileans and 2 gringos.  Its pretty sweet.  Elder Lobos is serving about 30-40 minutes from where he lives, which is less sweet but hes ok with it. It's funny cause there is a bus that passes by the church that could take him directly to his house.

Its good to hear that Jessica is involved with so much stuff and that you don't have to drive Amanda everywhere. London England does sound like a sweet mission for Rachel, but once you leave the country you see how fantastic America really is.

I will be sure to start taking more pictures and send them to you, take care mama!

Love,

Elder Nate Dawg
