I am learning a lot more about missionary work every day. I am also getting more and more used to being here everyday. I am excited for what the future brings and hope that I am able to make the best of it.
This week was a little interesting. On Friday one of the dogs that lives on our street got hit by a car. I didn't see it personally but we came when there was a bunch of people crowded around her. She got hit in her front leg and so now it is fractured or something. They asked us if we would let her sleep on our patio out front and we agreed. They bring food to her a few times a day. Everything's fine except that the dog cries all the time and its hard to fall asleep, but hopefully by doing this we can build a relationship with these people and end up teaching them all. Sacrificing for the greater good.
Other than that this week has been pretty normal. Elder Lobos and Elder Mendez had their baptism and are pretty happy about it. They also had an investigator come to church and he bore his testimony at church which was really interesting. But I am really happy for them and hope that we can start having some success soon. I think we will probably try to involve the members a lot more and see if that makes the difference. I really want to make a lasting impression on this ward so that when I leave it will be better than when I came in.
We left earlier in the week with a less active named Leonardo and we visited a few people with him and he had a good time and he and his family is starting to become active again, but they don't live in our sector so it doesn't count for us. I think it might be good to get the less actives involved in missionary work and hopefully that will help our investigators progress and help the less actives start coming back to church.
Something we might try doing is showing more videos to investigators and hopefully that will help them feel the Spirit more and have a stronger desire to actually do the things that we ask them.
Leonardo has a battery charger and so whenever my camera dies I will just have to go over there to charge it. Let me know if you want pictures of anything specific or if you want me to tell you about anything in particular.
That's all I can think of for now.
Love
Elder Nathan Lee
